Apple Devices that Support Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence was initially released to the public on October 28, 2024, as a free software update that included features such as Writing Tools, a more natural Siri, a more intelligent Photos app, and improved focus features. The first set of features was available with the release of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.
Here is a list of Apple devices that are compatible with Apple Intelligence;
- iPhone: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPad: iPad Pro (M1 and later), iPad Air (M1 and later), iPad mini (A17 Pro)
- Mac: MacBook Air (M1 and later), MacBook Pro (M1 and later), iMac (M1 and later), Mac mini (M1 and later), Mac Studio (M1 Max and later), Mac Pro (M2 Ultra)
Tech Giant Apple also confirms that all Macs and iPads with an M-series Apple silicon chip are compatible with Apple Intelligence. iPhones and iPads that have the A17 Pro or later chips are also compatible.
However, it's worth noting that the release was limited to devices with Siri's language set to U.S. English. Apple plans to expand language support rapidly. Localized English support for several countries (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K.) is expected in December 2024.
A more extensive update with broader language support is expected in April 2025. Eventually, Apple Intelligence will support Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, English (India), English (Singapore), and other languages.
Additional features are planned to be released in December 2024, including new visual expression tools (like personalized Genmoji and Image Playground) and deeper integration with ChatGPT. Even more capabilities, such as enhanced Priority Notifications and a more capable Siri with onscreen awareness, are expected to be rolled out in the coming months.
